I have a runner friend who went for a 2-D echo of his heart. His doctor asked him to immediately stop running saying that there is mild regurgitation in the 4 valves. He was in the middle of his training for a marathon & instead of a long tempo session, I saw him doing a slow run. He told me the story. I asked him for all the reports. Asked AI to analyse in the context of him being a marathon runner. AI gave a clear verdict for him to continue to run, comparing his values to the ESC recommended ones as they were well within the limits. Even the remodeling of his heart was physiological adaptation seen in the runners. His doctor had really scared him. I know that doctors know the physiology, but it's humanly not possible to remember everything they read in books during college days. The context of every patient also needs to be considered before making a clinical decision. So no harm in using AI before imposing restrictions on any patient. I will ask everyone to keep using AI for a second opinion on any medical condition giving it the full context and uploading any test reports that you have. SandeepVarma @sandeepvarma15 And this friend recently got his PB at New Delhi Marathon finishing full marathon in 4 hrs 30 mins, despite some irregular training in the last 2 weeks due to travel. But that statement from his doctor put a brake on his training with big mental trauma of a major heart issue.
