I have wanted to get all my smart devices into Home Assistant for years. Claude helped me knock it out in less than a weekend. I had so many random zigbee, zwave, wifi, and proprietary hubs with different devices scattered around the house. I had attempted setting up Home Assistant multiple times in the past, but always hit walls with YAML configurations, template sensors, and complex automations that made me give up. This time, whenever I ran into a configuration error or couldn't get a custom integration or Jinja2 template working, I just pasted my code and logs into Claude. It immediately debugged the issues, wrote clean configuration snippets, and helped me build complex automations from scratch that I never could have figured out on my own. Everything is unified on local control now.
