I do draw myself, but I also developed an injury in my hands and wrists from drawing so much over the years. Now I can't draw like I used to without triggering intense, burning joint pain. Sketching dozens of iterations to find the right pose or perspective used to put me out of commission for days. Now, I use AI to generate rough pose and composition studies based on my descriptions. I use those as reference to do the final painting directly, skipping the repetitive strain of early sketching. It has allowed me to continue creating my art without physically destroying my hands. For artists with chronic injuries or disabilities, it's not about being lazy—it's about being able to keep creating.
